SURREY
The City of Surrey is one of 21 municipalities in Metro Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada. We are located on the Lower Mainland on the south side of the Fraser River and share a border with the United States of America.
Surrey is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Salish Peoples, including the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), and Semiahma (Semiahmoo) land-based nations.
Within Metro Vancouver, Surrey is the largest city in land area, and second most populous city
DELTA
Delta is home to a population of more than 108,000 people. We pride ourselves on our past and our sustainable future. Delta has a hospital, an airport, a museum and archives, libraries, sports and recreational facilities, and many bike and walking trails in a varied network of parks including waterfront parks on the Fraser River, Boundary Bay and Strait of Georgia.
Delta encompasses 180 square kilometres bordered by the Fraser River on the north, the United States border and Boundary Bay on the south, the City of Surrey on the east and the Strait of Georgia on the west.
Residents enjoy safe, clean and quiet neighbourhoods, and the stable prosperity of the community makes it attractive for businesses to choose as their preferred location. Delta’s estimated household average income is 30 per cent higher than the Canadian average. The municipality also has one of the fastest growing industrial areas in Greater Vancouver.
Langley
The City of Langley is 10-square-kilometre urban centre located in the heart of the Lower Mainland economic region. With a population of approximately 29,000, the City of Langley offers residents all the amenities of a major urban centre — great shopping and dining, world-class education and entertainment facilities, extensive recreational opportunities and community events — plus over 346 acres of parkland!
The original settlement of Langley City was known as “Innes Corners,” and was later called “Langley Prairie.” The area along (Old) Yale Road developed into a major business and service centre and attracted trade from throughout the region. Continued growth resulted in the demand for higher levels of service in the community and, on March 15, 1955, the City of Langley — neighbour to the Township of Langley — was incorporated as its own separate municipality.
Maple Ridge
Maple Ridge is a city in British Columbia, Canada. It is located in the northeastern section of Greater Vancouver between the Fraser River and the Golden Ears, which is a group of mountain summits which are the southernmost of the Garibaldi Ranges of the Coast Mountains. Maple Ridge’s population in 2021 was 90,990. Its downtown core area was once known as Haney.
The city of Maple Ridge has become a popular location for feature films and television series. The Ridge Film Studios is located downtown, in an old retail space, and serves as a set location for episodic television programs. Maple Ridge’s film roots go back to the 1970s, when scenes for the feature film Rambo were shot here. Over time the city has been a background for a number of films and television series, including The X-Files, Bordertown, Smallville, Bird on a Wire, We’re No Angels, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, and Stargate SG-1. In recent months the old Bordertown set was featured in an episode of the WB series Legends of Tomorrow.
Mission
The City of Mission is nestled on a southern coastal mountain slope, overlooking the lush valley of the mighty Fraser River. Founded in 1892, Mission, BC was originally inhabited by the Stó:lō Peoples, and today this rapidly growing and dynamic centre is home to a population of over 41,000 residents. Read more about the city’s Indigenous Relations.
Ideally situated, Mission is just a 15-minute drive from the US border, and approximately 70 kilometres east of the City of Vancouver. Mission is surrounded by the incredible beauty of mountainous vistas and natural forest settings. Our climate is warm in the summer and mild and wet in the winter. Flowers bloom most of the year, as the area is naturally hospitable to a wide variety of plant life and vegetation. Topographically, Mission enjoys an immense variation of hillsides and gullies which maintain natural neighbourhood enclosures, spectacular views, and a sense of permanence.
Mission has a unique and colourful history. It is the site of Canada’s first train robbery, B.C.’s first rail link to the United States, one of the earliest Hydroelectric dams and Fraser River bridges, and is home to the oldest known First Nations’ archaeological site in British Columbia.
Abbotsford
Abbotsford is a city located in British Columbia, next to the Canada–United States border, Greater Vancouver and the Fraser River. With a census population of 153,524 people (2021), it is the largest municipality in the province outside metropolitan Vancouver.[3] Abbotsford–Mission has the third-highest proportion of visible minorities among census metropolitan areas in Canada, after the Greater Toronto Area and the Greater Vancouver CMA.[7] It is home to Tradex, the University of the Fraser Valley, and Abbotsford International Airport.
As of the 2021 census, it is the largest municipality of the Fraser Valley Regional District and the fifth-largest municipality of British Columbia. The Abbotsford–Mission metropolitan area of around 195,726 inhabitants as of the 2021 census is the 23rd largest census metropolitan area in Canada.[4] It has also been named by Statistics Canada as Canada’s most generous city in terms of charitable donations for nine straight years.
